Lock your screen, take a selfie of the thief

Locking your Android screen has three beneficial effects: it keeps curious people nearby from checking out your apps, it avoids accidental pressing and it causes many problems to thieves.

Screen Lock Guardian is a screen blocker that helps you reach those goals.

Get a selfie of the intruder

Screen Lock Guardian has two very well known and reliable blocking methods: PIN and pattern. For both of these you can define a maximum number of attempts, after which a waiting period is triggered, which is useful to halt any attempt to guess the code.

When you activate the lock, Screen Lock Guardian shows the day and time, along with the weather of your city. The background is customizable — you can chose one of the styles included, or use a photo from your gallery —. It also shows you the time and day of the last access attempt.

The most interesting feature of Screen Lock Guardian is its photo capture with the front camera every time unlocking fails. The photos are stored in a separate folder along with the time and date, and can be directly shared in social networks or WhatsApp.

The locker shows the notifications in the notification bar. If you want to quickly launch an app, you can do so by double tapping its icon in the lower launcher, where you can add up to five apps from the settings.

Easy to configure and use

As with all the Android screen lockers, Screen Lock Guardian requires you to enable a series of permissions in Android 5 and higher, such as access to the camera or the possibility of drawing over other apps, which is essential for the screen lock to work.

All the settings are in one single screen. Both the quick app launcher and the wallpaper configuration feature a comfortable preview. If you want to temporarily deactivate the block, all you need to do is turn on the switch at the head of each option.

If you want to know more about your intruders, this is your locker

Unlike the default screen lock included by Android, Screen Lock Guardian goes to the trouble of capturing a photo of whoever tries to unblock the device. This information can be very useful... if you use it well. Be responsible!

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
